You don't need to remove the engine to do the clutch, you simply remove the seat and floor giving you access to the Uni, gearbox clutch and bell housing. First jack up one rear wheel to allow the tail shaft to rotate, the Uni is dead easy to undo, 4 bolts retain the bell collar, undo these then slip the collar and the bell cover back down the torque tube as far as it will go, then 4 nuts hold the uni cage together, this can be a bit tricky as it can be buried in grease, but put the engine in gear, and undo the bolts on the uni collar if needed take out of gear rotate the rear wheel to get better access to the uni collar bolts and repeat. once all 4 bolts are removed support the torque tube, the uni collar can be prised apart with a screwdriver, careful the "donuts" that make up the bearing of the uni may drop out, once apart you can then drop the torque tube down below the rear of the gearbox in a 28 will rest on the brake cross bars in pre 28 a milk crate is handy. now you can proceed to do the gear box removal, Ray
