Juan,
I see nobody is answering your question, so wanted to point out that '53 is kind of a transition year in some regards, as the blocks/heads did change some...but in regards to brakes, your '53 should have Huck brakes on it. Those were used from '37-'53. Parking brake ties into the rear brakes of course.
Parts are hard to find for Huck brakes, the newer Bendix style are much easier to find. This is especially true of wheel cylinders, cylinder pistons, shoes, etc...(shoes are NOT interchangeable between Huck and Bendix).
There are not a lot of shop manuals for the 1st Series, but the '48 truck shop manual should work for you.
