Update:

Its been a while, but..

Ended up purchasing and installing an indpendent front suspension from Southern rods with the disc brake and power steering option.

Found a t5 from a 1993 Chevy S10 which fit my 235 engine.

Replaced the rear with a 67 Mercury rear.

Right now in the process of tackling how to hook up the power steering as (ironically) there is not a lot of room to run an additional belt/ps pump.

Not there yet, but making progress.

Thanks for everyones help.
