2003 Silverado 1500 WT 4wd. I finally got around to try and install the new Dorman cross member cushions. Not fun. I started with the drivers side, the cushion mount was completely rusted thru. I managed to get the cushion past the anti lock brake module, the evap canister bracket ( welded in) and the fuel lines. It gets hung up on the slot in the cross member. Plan is to remove the cross member to cushion bolt on the passenger side to see if I can move the cross member to get enough clearance for the cushion to drop in. If that doesnt work, is removing the cross member the only option? Any tricks to remove the cross member? Any other ideas to try and get the cushion installed?
