Im referring to the first gen years 67, 68 & 69.
I believe I used 67, but theyre pretty much the same. What the differences are within the years is how expensive you want to go.
Frankly I would use the automatic 4 sp. either the 700 R4 or the 2004R
The 200 4R is smaller (same size as Power glide trans) and fits a bit better under the Trans hump, about $1000. You can order it as beefy as you want. Monster Trans has them
The Rear end is the same story-if you want posi traction with 3:55 gears, its more expensive

I used:
T-10 4 sp stick with Hurst shifter
67 Camaro rear end with 2:73 gears, no Posi, so the freeway RPMS are low.
Still comes out of the hole fine with the extra low first gear. I dont race anymore!
