It moves the shifter forward away from the seat and then I get the bolt in reproduction 59-62 shift handle which gives an old school factory look along with room to move the seat forward if need be. Can the seat be moved to the FULL forward position with the shifter being fully functional?

Well, I would have to check that. I'm 6'3" so I don't need to move it but, my wife is 5'5" and she can move it up enough to drive it fine.
