Did you just get another pump with the brackets already on it or did you switch the brackets from your old pump to the new one? If it had brackets already on it, make sure they match your old ones. GM switched water pump design somewhere in those years and also changed the brackets. I remember years ago my neighbor got the wrong water pump at the parts store and his power steering pump wouldn’t bolt up to it. That was on a ‘76 Impala.
