Thanks for the confirmation - I took it apart this afternoon and found a very old, flattened out 0-ring that appeared to be original. I shopped all over town and no one had a replacement so I packed it with some Permatex sealant and put it back together until I can order the right o-ring. I'm going on a hot rod tour tomorrow with the Goodguys and I think it will be fine, especially if I don't fill the tank.
