Very common to C5. There are two tanks and the sensor that detects when one empties and transfers to the other gets dirty.

Dump 20 oz. of Chevron Techroline into a near empty tank, fill up and drive. It may clean the sensor. Also, use Chevron gas that has the additive in it.

Do the Techroline procedure every 5K to 10K miles. I used to do it every other oil change, changing oil between 3500 to 5000 miles. I would do it just before the oil change so that any contaminants would get flushed.
