Just realized that the motor, with clutch assembly and bell housing (no trans) installed. it sat on a floor jack with 2x4 under the oil pan all of this time

Could that have in some way, deformed the pan to a point where a counter weight hits the bottom???

If the possibility exists, I can solve that.

per Dons suggestion, I will turn it by hand first and see what happens.
