Compressor clutch power does not go through the relay. Full 12 volts from the starter goes through the relay to the fan motor when Hi speed is selected. Lower speeds go through the resistors. I think the relay is mounted on the side of the blower housing under the hood. I think there is an inline fuse or CB in the power to the relay.
If the blower motor needs lubricating, it can bind, and cause exce3ssive current draw, which can blow the fuse.
