Im a new member to forums in general so I apologize for any dumb question or incorrect terminology ahead of time.
Im interested in using a 4.3 in an old jeep project Im about to start. My problem being I know what I would like to end up with but have limited knowledge on how to get there, especially with EFI and computers.
I would prefer to end up with a MPI 4.3 instead of TBI. I believe I would need a custom wire harness as well as a reprogramed ECU (computor). This is were the difficulty begins.
What years and vehicles would I be looking for as a donor? What all do I need from the donor vehicle? How hard will this be? Would it be better to go with the TBI version? Do I need the ECU or just look for a preprogramed ECU with the wiring harness include? I'll be mating it to a 4 SPD manual. From some of the reading Ive done I understand I wont have sensors for the ECU that it will be looking for.
Any help or direction to somewhere/someone that could help would be great.
Thanks

Welcome to CT. Both plans require a matching harness, a complete used engine would have all the sensors, need fuel system to the tank and the appropriate pump also. Some year ecus would have a security system programmed, so that would have to addressed. This could be a tough undertaking for a "newbie ", custom exhaust also, with an o2 sensor.
