has anyone used/found an LED bulb for your a/c-heater control unit? A/C units utilize 2 bulbs, while the heater only use just one bulb. it seems that the compatible #1445 in an LED bulb is a bit longer than the incandescent bulb and I'm not crazy about doing a trial and error just to find out that it's too long to fit. I'm running LEDs in my dash cluster and would like to get a somewhat consistent glow in the cab, as the stock bulbs in the control unit are very dim.

I bought some off ebay a bag of them , yes the gauges work good , The a/c lights still are not vet bright . Most LED are not dimmable so your stuck with what you get, I do belive they make dimmable ones.

that's interesting. I don't know why the a/c panel is so dim. I currently have one bulb working and one would think there are no lights until (VERY) close inspection. it's my understanding that these are less than 3 watt bulbs, the next standard size is #1895, which I think is double the watts. I just don't know if they might be too big to fit in the housing. Using LED should not be an issue overloading the circuit...if using double the watts with incandescent, that could be an issue.

I finally got some iBrightstar 12-24V LED Superbright #1895 equivalent, and these things are almost too bright. They're on Amazon in a 2-pack for $9.99. They must be the largest bulb that will fit in the back of the control head. I can now easily read everything on the a/c-heater control, unlike any incandescent bulb that I have seen.
