Evening.Heater's in these early Chevy II's are easy to do.Drain some coolant out.Remove the two hoses. On the firewall side at the blower motor, remove the 3 nuts. From inside the car, remove the 3 cables and the connector from the resistor.Remove the defroster tubes. On the right side of the heater box, remove the bolt at the support.Slightly lower then give a tug,the heater will come out.Place on a work bench and remove the small the case to remove the heater core.My suggestion would be also to not only replace the heater core, but give her a good cleaning and replace the foam seals inside and lube the moving parts also. You should be able to get a rebuild kit but you also can hit the local hardware store and got a package of thin foam and easily make then.Attach with some contact cement and reassemble.I do this on a lot of late model vehicles which you can't get gaskets or seals. You can buy the blower motor to firewall seal and cowl seal readily also.Easy fix!
