Just some info from my compressor. Hope it will help. I have an Ingersoll rand 2475. 7 1/2 HP with an 80 gallon tank. It is rated for continuous duty. Cast iron pump. When completely empty it takes approx. 7 and 1/2 minutes to fill up. I have never run it out of air. Even when sandblasting it will pump up and shut off while I am working. I always keep the oil changed and clean air filters on it. I also drain the tank quite often. It has been dependable and reliable. Its a little bigger than most people need but better a little bigger that a tad to small.

Before I bought this one I paid $500 for a used 5 hp two stage. The big downside was that it had an aluminum pump (pulled more moisture from the air) and also not enough capacity. I had it for approx. 8 years, kept it clean and in good shape and sold it for the same $500 that I bought it for.

If it runs and does what its supposed to $500 isn't much for a decent compressor nowadays. And maybe you can you can deal a little and get the price down a little. If everything checks out on it the most you can loose is the $500. Check the facts, look it over good, and try to make the best decision for YOU.

Please repost and let us know what you decided and how it worked out.

Good Luck Max
