03 Silverado 5.3l . Checking on a recently replaced tps (by others) using a test light probe at wire harness , at second row of wires a notable click occurred in which caused engine to shortly rev up. Went back to first row of wires and no power there or on second row which all wires were not checked due to the click and rpm short burst. Disconnected wire harness to tps and no change in the way engine idled not sure what to do at this point and no issues, just baffled as to why no power at harness,no codes .

You can't use a test lite, the reference voltage is only 5v use a dvom to check connections.

Thanks for that! Any idea why there would be no change of engine idle when harness is disconnected

Late model pcms have a default algorithm that sees a bad or disconnected sensor and compensates for the lack of input, that may be why there is little or no change.
