The title of a book I am reading now. It covers the battle for the Pusan perimeter from June 25 1950 on. Very detailed almost to the point of boredome but if you are interested at all in the Korean war this is a book that is not readily available. Our local library had to request if for me out of a library in Virginia. The troops there were under armed, under fed, under trained, and attempting to use WWII bazookas to stop T-34 tanks. Dated food, outdated ammunition and very very poor leadership are brought to light. Also the atrocities commited by the North Koreans against US troops. When I was in Basic one of the field instructors told us if for any reason we were to get into a position where surrender was called for hope it is to the Chinese and not the North Koreans. That proved to be pretty good advice as it turned out.
