Dang, I knew we had more than ust a Chevy K1500 in common! Even down to the color! I put 305/50/20's with the Nitto Terra Grabbers on it in February this year...so here is my ride!

Wow! You must be putting all the miles on the '55. The '96 is still new!

Red-headed nothin'! Sharp looking truck. I love the 55-57 Chevy trucks but GMC had better front end styling for 55-56; it took Chevy 2 years to catch up!

How's the clearance turning lock to lock on the front end with the 305's up front? Looks like they fit nice.

Hi, I'm Dustin, and I live in the swamps of Louisiana, jk
I am still relatively new to the GMC/Chevy scene. This is the new pride and joy of my fleet, a 1995 GMC Southern Comfort 1500.
Although she might look a lil rough now, I do have some plans for her. Looking thru this site has given me MANY ideas.

Cool truck! What size wheels and tires are you running? Also what kind of drop do you have on it? My truck is similar but I have no idea what it looked like new or what kind of drop the previous owner put on it...

As I was told by the person I purchased it from, the previous owner lowered it a few inches in order to tow his motorcycle trailer. As for as how much, I don't know. I'll measure it if y'all want.
The rims are eagle alloys. The tire size is P295/50R15. I don't know the offset, but if y'all know a way I could find out, I'm willing to try. The rims are nice, but not really my cup of tea. They are too wide for me. The tires are over 12" from sidewall to sidewall. I'll try to add pics later as I'm currently typing this on my phone.

Welcome to the forum...
Looks like probably a 2/2 drop, possibly done with shorter springs in front and drop shackles in back. It might be a 3/5 drop but I don't think so. The shorter tires and the ground effects w/fender flares kind of hide the true amount of drop.
jdi - the backspacing on 12" wheels tends to not vary much because they have to stick the wheel out a bit to avoid interference with the suspension, so pretty much any 12" wheel you get in this bolt pattern will sit the same.
