Can someone please give me the horsepower, torque, and compression specs on the 454 TBI from a 1988 Chevy truck 3500 4x4. I found this truck in the junkyard and bought the engine out of it. The heads are 3993820 and the block is 14015445. The heads I know are not original, as they came from a 1971-72 Chevy Chevelle or Corvette. The block looks to be the original as installed in the truck. It shows 150K on the odometer, and it looks pretty clean under the valve covers. It has the original TBI intake and throttle body on it as well. Also, I'd like to know what kind of hydraulic flat tappet cam would be good for this engine using these heads and a Performer RPM intake with a 750cfm Q-jet and headers. I'm installing this engine into a 1988 Caprice police car with the 700R-4 trans and a 3.08 rear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I pulled the heads from the 454 over the weekend and I found a .040 bored block with flattops and 2 small valve reliefs. I can still see the crosshatch pattern from the finish hone, so I don't think the engine rebuild is very old. The block is most definitely a 4 bolt block, but the last 6 numbers on the deck surface don't match the last 6 numbers of the VIN from the truck I pulled it from, so who knows what it's out of. Anyway, it's a call to Jeg's with my list and my trusty credit card and we'll be on the road before you know it! Hot Dang!!!
