I have made the decision to get chrome smoothies, could you guys help with any particulars on size and dimensions like back space. I am planning on Cragar's, any info would be greatly appreciated as always.
PS my tires are 215/75R 15's

I came up with 3 5/8" backspace and 3/8" offset, This sound about right ?

I went for aftermarket first generation chrome rally wheels for my 53. They are 15x6 zero offset and fit well. I am running 215/75-R15 Coker radials with Vintique center caps available through Summit Racing resembling original 53/54 hubcaps. Vintiques also makes the 49-52 caps for these wheels.

What width wheel are you looking for? The width will affect the backspace to some degree.

I had to measure the clearance myself. There are a zillion different combinations when it comes to wheels and tires. I used 15x8 rims with 5" backspace and 255/70/15 tires. I have plenty of fender clearance but the tire is about an inch and a half away from the leaf springs. I'd venture to say you will need LESS backspace.

Thats my dilemma, a zillion choices. I just am looking for the factory dimension wheels. I have regular width tires on my stock rims, I would like to find the same size in a smoothie.

Thanks All

Stock wheels were 15x5 with 3-5/8" backspace. You can put a 215 tire on those, but that's about the limit.

I have to apologize. I made a mistake. My rims have a 5" backspace not 4". The smoothies you are looking at with a 4 1/4 backspace will probably work. Sorry.
