I'm not sure exactly what it's called. But, I'm trying to locate the brackets (or what I've heard as a pocket) that attaches the hood hinge springs to the body on a 1947 chevy sedan delivery. Most likely the brackets are the same ones used on all 41-48 passenger cars. Does anyone have any info on them? Such as where I can purchase them, drawings, photos, etc.

Thanks for the photo. It turns out I already tracked down the brackets, and was able to purchase them from an outfit in Southern California. Along the same line; are there filler pieces that go between the body and inner fenders right under the spring retainer brackets? Or, is the gap left open. It doesn't appear there's any screw mounting or metal staples for attaching either a metal or rubber filler piece.

I'm going to try and post a picture from the back side of the hood. I don't see any shims or fillers.

That area is open. But, as shown in Rustchips second picture there is a filler at the rear. That filler has a rubber weather strip that covers it, that is missing in the photo.

Thanks for the photo. But, I should have been more descriptive in my previous post. The gap I was alluding to is about 4" wide and 15" high. Located below the hinge spring bracket, between the back of the inner fender and body, and goes down to the top of the frame. If I can figure out how to attach a photo, I'll post a picture.

BTW - the hinge spring brackets I purchased came with the filler pieces shown in RustChips photo.

If there were fillers, mine are long gone. But I see no indication of where they would be attached.
