Ive noticed on 68 impala rear side markers some have been mounted with mouting screw on bottom and some with screw on top mine do not have a right or left marking ..what is the factory correct way to mount?

Definitely screw on the bottom. There is no room to easily get a socket wrench on the stud that low next to the trunk drop-off inside. I have noticed a few that were installed wrong over the years. My PET Peeve is guys who install the front header emblem upside down, which I see quite often. Don S

Thank you for the help.. i thought that was correct but not 100 sure.. as for the header panel emblem ive never noticed that.. the "V" should face up correct?

To me, it is so obvious when it's upside down. The bowtie points down toward the ground instead of straight out. So the thin side is the top and the thicker is the bottom.
