Hi All what is the process for painting the white strip in the middle of the Belair stainless door trim? Having trouble getting the paint to stick.

I take the trim to a sign/auto graphics shop and get get correct color vinyl layed down and neatly trimmed. Way better than paint, sticks forever and edges are crisp and clean, can't do that that with paint and masking tape.

I lightly scuffed/sanded the grooves with emery paper, masked off everything, first with narrow detail tape and then with wide tape and LOTS of newspaper.
Then I sprayed with several coats of Valspar Paint + Primer in One Gloss White.
That was 2-3 years ago and it's holding up perfectly.
