Here's a link to what Chev's of the 40's has to offer. I used them on my sedan delivery, but the view is very poor per their mounting location.

Thanks for the link eplantage.
Wonder what the difference is between the regular ones and the King Bees. Maybe one has a better view.

Thanks Dave.
Trying to keep this car as original as possible.
Painted the car the original color from the tag on the firewall.

I looked for one for almost 20 years. At least, for 52 (per Gene Schneider) they did make them but they are rare birds as they did not sell well. In the 50s there was little need to see what was on the right hand side what with the lack of 4 lane roads.

I sent you a picture. I have never seen one for sale in 40 years.
I do have a 1950 peep mirror for sale. It clamps on the rain deflector above the vent window.

This is a scan of the accessory mirror from the Genuine CHEVROLET ACCESSORIES for 1950 dealership book. It gives you a good idea of what the base and clamp look like, but it is difficult to tell the shape and arc of the arm.

I can't verify that it is original, but the left door on me sedan delivery had threaded bungs welded on the back side of the door edge for mounting a mirror. Not the clamp on type. The mirror from Chev's of the 40's bolted right up to it.

The mirror looks exactly like a lot of reproduction mirrors out there. It would work well on a Styleline but not on the Styleline Deluxe with the door trim. The mirror would mount to low for what appears to be a short stem bewtween the mirror and the mount. I have a box full of "it will fit your car mirrors".

The one I have on my '50 DeLuxe works well and was on the car when I bought it. The car had been parked in 1963. I will post a photo of it below. I have another recently purchased one on my '51 DeLuxe and it does not work at all...unless I want to examine the surface of the road. Both use set screws as in the scan of the authorized accessory above.

I've got these on my '50 Deluxe. The drivers side works well. Passenger side is useless.

Thanks for all the info guys, I'm going to try and find one like the accessories book shows. Kinda looks like the one that was on the car when I bought it 20 yrs ago. Need to try and find it.

The sedan delivery came with a rather heavy duty mirror and no inside mirror. Same for the convertible in 1950 and previous.

Thanks Gene, that's interesting. My passenger door also had the threaded bungs welded to the inside edge but were about 4" further up. I suppose to improve visibility. Viewing from the front made it look lopsided. I moved it down to make them symmetrical. Not very useful though.

I find most of my literature on eBay. This particular book had some water damage so I got it for a relatively good price. I had to saturate napkins with water and place them betwen some of the pages that were stuck together. I then carefully pulled them apart trying to do as little damage as possible.

Ram,
Sounds like the book comes in handy.
Does it have any info on spot lights ?
Does anyone know if the 1950 spots lights on the drivers side have a mirror on the back ? Some people say those are 1949s spot lights.

The 1950-1952 spot light (Guide brand) with a mirror on the back.

Gene is correct, the spotlight with the mirror was an accessory that was advertised for the 1951-1953 [not sure about 54] models. In 1953, you could also get a mirror that adjusted from the inside just like a spotlight...basically a spotlight arm but with only a mirror at the end.
