Yawn!...Luckily, I DVR'd it to zip through this mostly boring race, IMO.
Next week: Phoenix. And expect more of the (yawn) same, since it is Harvick's best track....

Previously the name of this forum was temporarily "Toyota in Racing" featuring Truex Jr.

For now it's changed to "Ford in Racing" featuring Harvick.

At least NHRA Pro Stock is "Pro Camaro" since no others even run the class seriously. They even changed the rules so you could run a Chevy engine in a non-Chevy body. No takers yet, Ho-hum.

Ah come on Rick. We need more drama in this forum! :-)

It's kind of interesting to me that Stewart Hass racing can switch to Ford (from Chevy) and run at the front without a long development ramp up. That tells me the suspension aspect of these cars is critical for running at the front. Driver skills and horsepower doesnt' hurt either...

Maybe one of the Chevy guys will get their act together and get back to the front. Hendrick teams seem to be struggling...

2 in a row for the 4 team. Oh and they were penalized for 2 infractions post race.
The rear window wasn't supported properly and the lower rocker extension was not aluminum. Cost them a little cash and loss of car chief for a race or two.

If it was only the car chief suspended it wasn't "that big a deal". Whatever that means.

A few years ago there were no car chiefs. I think that position was created to be a sacrificial crew member so the all important crew chief wouldn't get bounced.

There was always a "car chief", just no title. He's the crew chief's right hand man. Crew chief makes the decisions, car chief oversees getting that done when the car is in the garage.

That's one of the few times I've seen the car chief get suspended and not the crew chief.

They may have changed the hierarchy on who gets punished for what this year, with the new inspections and the fewer crew members both over the wall and in the garage.

Saw a deal on TV during the race where some over the wall crew member (which car I don't remember) got hurt. Getting a replacement was a bigger deal than previously because a replacement has to already have a garage pass for the event (doesn't have to be the same team). I think whoever it was made a deal with a back marker team.
