Grumpyvette had a great suggestion years ago, and I think it makes a lot of sense. Call four or five of the major cam companies, give them your specs, and see what cam each of them recommend for your engine. Compare all of the cams. The one that is closest to the average of them will probably be the most optimal choice. Report back after you do this. We will all be curious to see what they recommend.

Thanks for the reply.

By chance I did read grumpy's suggestion about that, interestingly it happened to be shortly after I'd done just what he recommended. Talk about making me feel above average.

What I did find is a couple single pattern suggestion while the majority were dual pattern. The mass cammers were pushing the larger duration (both @adv. and @50) and higher DCR #'s while the grinders were much more conservative in all aspects. The latter are quite in line with my tendency of choosing a cam just a step or so above the factory "929" grind.

Because of the above "survey" I've pretty much made a decision as to general specs for the cam, my OP was more-so an effort to gain additional insight as to the single vs dual benefit for my particular scenario.
