Hi Guys,
Been awhile. Hope everybody is doing good.
Look what the groundhog just drug home for a friend. Parked in 1971 by the original owner in Canada until another friend brought it here a few months ago. All original except for the wheels. 6 cyl 3 spd with padded dash and e-z Eye glass. Also has the original spiral shocks. Runs and drives. Never seen one 2 toned like this before.

Wow Jens, that is a rare one, probably as rare as a 59 SD?
GM Historic Canada will tell you how many were made and some details on the car too. As built colour, motor, transmission, interior colour, date sold and selling dealer. I like the colour.

What's this one getting done to it? Did you add more garage space?

Looks like it might be gothic gold/satin beige. Unloaded it at his place for floors and more work but pretty sure he's keeping the patina.
Can't believe they got it running with a carb and tune up after sitting for that long. Those old stovebolts last forever. Still has the 1971 oil in it.

Thats supposed to be this one.

EDIT Photobucket deleted that pic, I found another one from Barrett Jackson of the same car, this pic is a bit lighter.

That's supposed to be 1209 originally, a 2 door Bel Air.

That Belair looks quite a bit darker. This one also came from Alberta though.

I always thought the Gothic Gold/Satin Beige combo was a beautiful combo on these cars. I had a four door Bel Air in that finish and it always attracted lots of attention. Gothic Gold was a weird color, even from the factory. It seemed to range from an almost copper looking darker color to an near platinum gold on different cars from different plants. Must have been one of the more challenging colors for the chemists to mix back in the good old days.

Yeah those Canadian colors sure do seem to be a little different than the US colors Cheviac.

Thanks for the welcome back Keith... Been a little pre-occupied over the last year with an illness and personally rebuilding the mancave & haven't been able to work on the cars. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things when the weather breaks though.

Yoo.. Tom.
Nice.. not sure what he's doing with the motor yet but I'll mention that to him.
I didn't make it out there today but he's got the full floor pan and braces ordered from Rock Auto now. Plus the 67 GTO is down from the hoist and the wagon in the air.
Also gotta lead on a parts wagon we need to check out.
But it looks like it might take a chainsaw and a team of horses to get it out. lol

That's a pile of work Jens.

Gothic gold may be a hard colour to photograph as well as to look at on a computer screen.

I hope your health is OK now, that will change your priorities in a hurry.

Wow. Your construction skills rival your automotive restoration skills! I am impressed.
I am confused about one thing. Where are the Swiffer girls? Not one in any of your pics. Did they migrate to a warmer climate for the winter? I haven't seen any in Corpus Christi.
If you can do that during an illness, what can you do when healthy?
I am almost recovered from Hurricane Harvey. I just have to put my log splitter together and get started on the firewood. I hope to have everything else on the back burner, and back on the 6T by spring.
Griff

Yes those are different piles of wood. We used a lot of our cured wood this winter.

That's one heck of a wood pile Griff, we sure could use that load up here! Maybe we could send the grand helpers down your way.. and you could put them to work.

Yo Sparky..
Got the parts wagon now. Been sitting for several decades with only 45K on the speedometer before her demise. Mostly complete but rough. Suntan copper/Fawn beige with E-z-eye glass.
Will be used for wagon specific donor parts and the rest will be saved back for a future trailer project.

Hi Bruce, hope you're feeling better and have a speedy recovery soon -nothing worse than back pain.
Yes.. those big hoods get heavier to lift every year.

Jens, suddenly my little rust issue doesn't seem so bad. I have little spot under the gas tank filler area. Of course, when we did the floors 30 years ago, it was sheet metal and fiberglass.

Thanks for sharing the pics!
