On these trucks, with most stock 15" wheels and drop spindles, you'll need to trim a small amount of the lower control arm for clearance. If you do a clean job you can also weld an A-shaped patch in there to regain some strength. Belltech used to sell ready-made patches for this exact purpose, but if you can cut clean enough to be able to weld in a patch, you can probably cut your own patches just as easily as buying some.
For what it's worth, many people have driven tons of miles on cut control arms with no issue. I can't tell you it's 100% safe but it has been done. I personally would prefer them to be patched or never cut to begin with. When I rebuilt the front end on my old '92 I replaced the lower control arms with un-cut used ones since I was already running larger wheels.
