Has anyone changed the wiring so their fog lights come on every time with their headlight low beam do. Of course my headlight low beams come on as driving/running lights anytime it is in drive.

Would there be any negative reason not to do this?

I’m surprised they even come on at all on high beam. Isn’t factory setting off with high beam and on with low? Both my ‘00 Contour and Explorer had/have fogs that we’re off with high beam.

Granted, they’re not GM, but it makes sense that the low beams would have the fogs enabled for safety. High beams scatter terribly in snow and fog.

He didn't say anything about high beams. He wants the fog lamps to come on automatically when his low beams are on instead of always having to remember to turn them on manually. I wouldn't mind that, either.

Possibility of exceeding the headlight breaker rating if you directly connect the fog lights to the low beam circuit. One way to get around this would be to retain the existing fog light power feed and use a relay to do the switching.

Like Miami Son said I just want the fog lights to come on automatically every time I drive. I just want to trigger the fog light relay when in drive. Maybe a jumper at the fog light dash switch? Just wondering if anyone has done something similar.

In the fuse panel under the hood there are relays for each of the high, low and fog lights so circuit overloading isn’t an issue.

Since no one seems to have figured out how to get the fog lights to come on automatically has anyone figured out how to keep the low beams on with the high beams?

I told you how in general terms in my previous post. If you want the hookup spelled out, run a jumper from the fog light relay coil terminal to the low beam relay load terminal. This will turn on the fog lights whenever the low beams are lit, but still allow you to operate the fog lights independently from their own switch without the low beams being on.

If that's not how you want them to work, please state your requirements in more detail.

Sorry Ray, I didn’t understand your post until you explained it better, thank you. That’s what I wanted to know.

Run a jumper wire from 87 terminal on HDLP LO/HID relay to the 86 terminal on the FOG LAMP relay.

Yes, that sounds good.
