I have owned my 99 Silverado for a little over two years. I was checking things under the hood over with winter coming on and noticed on the top radiator hose it has printed what appears to be a date of when it was made. It said 10 28 98. Did they date code hoses then and if so that means this hose is nineteen years old?!!! Probably original equipment since it's a 99 truck.
Anyone know?

I've seen lots of dates on various parts of my truck. I would guess it's original. I had my original hoses for a very long time, but waited a bit too long, and had a hose blow. That was several years ago now. I'd order new ones, if I were you.

Thanks guys. I believe 19 year old hoses have served their purpose and it's time to retire them.

You could mount them above your mantel, as trophies since they've lasted so long :-)
