Wondering if anyone has purchased this kit?

FLOWMASTER 817413

All the images I find online do not depict if this system has flanges to mount direct to the manifolds.

So, i just need to know if anyone out there who has this system, Does it have flanges?

If you do, would you have any pictures? There are no threads on this system in any of the X-Frame forums here.

ThanX

I'll be Frank, this hobby isn't getting any easier.

It states in the description the system is for header application. I would expect no flanges, but any good muffler shop would have flanges. It would probably have to have a short pipe fabricated to get from the manifold to the pipe anyway.

This does not attach to the stock exhaust manifolds. It also exits in front of the rear wheels and is very loud. Go to Show-Cars and get a complete system with turbo mufflers.

I would love to purchase a complete system BUT it would have to be local to me in Ontario, Canada.

Shipping costs for a complete system is unreal.

If there are any Canadians (Ontarian's) that can suggest a place that would be great.

That or I will have to drag the car to an exhaust shop and have it custom made. $$$$

Only a thought here but, when I ordered a replacement exhaust system for my 37 Ford from Waldrons Exh. located in Mich., to deliver to Maine they had an agreement with Fastenal that made the customers delivery cost a lot less.
Maybe it's possible for you with Show Cars to make an agreement like that, or even with another company affiliated (or close by) with them, or a bus line. Best of luck.

Have you tried local parts stores? All of them should carry a line of stock replacement exhaust system parts. If what you need is listed in the mfr's catalog, the store should be able to order the parts and it will likely cost less than having a shop bend pipes for you.

Pretty sure Walker still makes the stock setup. Factory and most aftermarket HP stuff will be 2.5" to the muffler and 2" out the muffler and back. That's the way the factory did it.
You can look up the numbers for Walker and order it at the auto parts store down the road.

ThanX I did find the Walkers down pipes on Summit, then checked local jobbers but they are 2" not 2.5".

Walker Intermediate Pipes 42123 - Driver
Walker Intermediate Pipes 42124 - Passenger

I can get them locally but they will not work. I have 2.5" ram horn manifolds.

I'm just brainstorming here, but a local shop should be able to whip out a complete system at a reasonable cost.
I put a Buick 350 that I had lying around into a 76 El-Camino that I had. A local shop that's been here for years did a complete system with Magnaflow mufflers for $300, out the door. For some reason, people are scared of taking cars into shops like that. I have found them to be very helpful, and if you can get an older gent, they love doing stuff on the old iron we have.

A simple google search turned up 3 shops in Ontario.
this one in Mississauga, Ontario.
http://www.zoromuffler.com/services.htm#classic
They are "classic car enthusiasts". This quoted from their web page...
"Classic Cars:
We can design and build Factory type or Custom dual exhaust systems for any Classic car or muscle car out there. With well over 100 years of experience in the custom exhaust bending field anything you can dream up for your exhaust we can make into your reality. Your car, your choice, we can give you the exhaust note and look that you've always wanted."
Free estimates. Dude, drag it to them. It'll cost you half a day. I can't believe they would cost more than you are looking at for the Flowmaster thing you first posted.

ThanX Griff,
Zoro is one place I am familiar with as they have fixed 3 of my daily drivers over the years. Also a place I recommend to anyone that needs work done to their daily driver's exhaust.

One place I have yet to talk to about my 58.

I have a shop (Hot Rod Scott 25yrs in business) around the corner from me and they quoted almost $1200 for dual 409SS not 304SS 2.5" pipes.

Hi Frank.
Id take it to a shop you trust and have them do it
A local shop here in Winnipeg, Extreme Performance, did my 58 from the manifolds back.
2.5 " with Walker turbos for 700 all in.
Well worth it.

You could call Show Cars and get a shipping quote. I had a whole exhaust shipped to me. It was just wrapped in shrink wrap and came UPS pretty cheap.

There is an additional add-on kit to route the exhaust over the axle so that it exits aft of the rear wheels.

Loudness is a function of the mufflers used. The kit as it comes from Flowmaster doesn't include mufflers. It can be made to be relatively quiet.

It was aluminized. I'm sure a local shop you trust could bend it up in whatever material you want.

Ask Show Cars for a Fedex price, Fedex sometimes charges a $10 broker fee and no surprises on the cost. Sometimes they don't collect GST.
