Retaining the lock set/tumbler in the deck lid? There's a slip plate that engages tangs on the tumbler. Missing that plate? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Yes, the lock goes through the large end of the slip plate and slides in a grove in the tumbler.
There is a shaft that goes in the tumbler to engage the latch cam.
