Trying to save some bucks here, 47 convertible.
I would like to convert my top motor assembly to a more modern electric top set up.
The cost for the kit is $700!
Anyone ever inbvent something from another modern car?
That is a lot of money!

Thanks!
Bru

Broo,
A friend of mine has built several ‘40’s convertibles, both GM and Ford. He uses the stock hydraulic cylinders but used a late model pump mounted under the back seat. He’s used pumps from late model Chrysler’s and late model Mustang converts. He’s also used late model hydraulic cylinders. I don’t know how (in)expensive those would be in a U-Pull-it yard.

Broo,
Finally was able to talk to my friend. He doesn't really have a favorite, he uses whatever he can find in a junk yard or swap meet. Like I said, he's used late model Mustang and Chrysler pumps and recently used a '57 Chevy pump he found at a swap meet. All have worked with the original top cylinders.
