From the CE web site and Facebook:
"It has been a fun 53 years of Street Rodding, but today we are closing our garage doors, packing up our tools, and preparing for new adventures.
To all our loyal customers, dealers and friends, we would like to say thank you, it has been an honor.
Keep your eyes on the Chassis Engineering Inc. website and Facebook page (link) after Thanksgiving to check out our online SWAP MEET for remaining kits AND some historic treasures found in the attic.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Lewis,
Chassis Engineering Inc.
PS. Keep your wheels on the road !"

From their Facebook site:
"Chassis Engineering Inc. founder Roy A. Lewis passed away Tues. October 17th, 2017.
Services will be Saturday October 21, 2017.
Visitation 10am, Celebration of Life 12pm.
Henderson Barker Funeral Home in West Branch, IA
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him."

Sad to see such a great company go away. Must have been a very difficult decision to close the company. Condolences to the Lewis family and all of CE's employees.

That is a shame. Was thinking of new suspension for the 48. Always good service. Will be missed

Sorry to lose them. They were easy to work with and had great products! Does anyone know of an alternative vendor that has similar products?

I know Chev's of the '40's has a bolt in cross members to install a C5 Corvette suspension into a '41-'48 Chevy. JW Rod Garage out of Wisconsin has a weld-in suspension. I do recall a company out of Washington (I think) that had a bolt-in suspension very much like CE's but I can't remember the name.
