Just getting my 1970 SBC back together after about 8 years of sitting on a stand.
I had completely forgot that I swapped the heads back then.
The old plugs that I had sitting in a box were AC Delco R45S, so I had purchased new replacements.
I was pulling my hair out trying to install them but the body of the plug will not fit the plug hole.
Just to test my theory out I took a flap disk to one plug and removed some metal so the body was the same size as the crush washer.
I was able to screw the plug all the way to the seat.
Question is, is there a plug with a slimmer body that I can purchase? Anybody know a part number? Would hate to flap disk all the ones I have to make them work.

Couldn't get to the links, are you saying the std 14mm plug wont screw into the head or the body of the plug interferes with the header?

The body of the plug will not fit the exisiting hole to even thread into the head.

It hadn't occurred to me at the time until I started searching on line for a solution.
I'll be hitting the local jobber in the morning.

I used taylor wires from Summit and there was more than enough length to get the job. Almost too much.

DEPENDS,THAY HAVE OVER & UNDER SETS,I LIKE "MOTOR CRAFT" WIRES 8.5 DIA,THE UNDER SETS USUALLY WORK BETTER THAN THE OVER WITH HEADERS & MUCH LONGER.
