What can be done with a TH200 transmission to make it more durable?

It's working okay. I just learned that the 200r4 that I bought off eBay 14 yrs ago is actually a th200. I haven't drove it on highway much, mostly in town. I've been doing the body work on it. I recently read that putting in a shift kit and a deep aluminum pan would make it better than a th350 or th400. I've read this in 2 sites, just want others opinions. Thanks for replying.

Not good info, that trans is very weak! Notorious for reverse gear failures and under-engineered for lower power engines.

Good plan, try not to engage reverse at high idle.

Thanks guys. This engine idles at 700 rpm due to the big cam.

Where does one pick up the lockup wires for the TH200c?
