ok, its getting close to teh time where i can fit a gas tank into my 56 frame. obviously teh behind the seat tank is not an option, and i'm looking to go under the bed between the frame rails. i can go with the filler neck at the rear of the truck, flush with the bed wood.

any options or donors that have been used?

I used a 87 Chevy Blazer tank from Dorman Products (576-321) in my 57 and ran the filler neck up into the rear fender for a more "factory" look.

Nice writeup on your website Jack. Thank you for documenting and explaining all of that.

I'll be doing similar stuff to the 59 Apache Fleetside soon.

Well I sure made a big mistake using the rear fill on mine, I cant get fuel in as it dribbles back out of the neck and onto the ground. I made up a funnel and hose to use but need to re-engineer the filler.
