is there a way to test the esc module??

1988 chevy S 10 4x4 had a 4.3 swap to a 1988 chevy 5.7 engine came out of a K 1500 truck 4x4

What year or generation? Is communication possible? If not, the circuit could be unpowered. Can you provide more information.

on my 1988 chevy s 10 with a 1988 chevy 5.7 i replaced the dis. ecm knock sensor the truck still set a code 42 and at idle wants to die. all the wires look good.

thank you for the infor. i think i found the problem
the wires going from the coil to the dis. are bad.

Coil to distributor wires can be a problem. Especially pickup coil wires.

Did you replace any parts? How is it running now?
