Looking for power window motors... i live in Uruguay and buy the original Delco motors is very expensive for me, so i'm interested on these 12v motors, they come with the gear and are smaller than Delco motors so the mount is easy.

My doubt really is if they can carry with the weight of the windows, i've asked the seller and he asked me for the torque of the original motors but i have no idea what torque they have.

These new motors are 12v - 40 RPM but doesn't have torque specs, only says "high torque"

You might be able to purchase lift motors from eBay cheaper.

The output gear on that motor is probably only 1/4" or 7mm in diameter. I doubt it has any torque that would be usable for automotive application.

The torque provided by that motor is 12KGF.CM (which is .9 foot-pound) maximum. $7 US with 100 piece minimum order.

Enough to pull up a window?

I personally don't think it's got the torque to do it.

What is the diameter of the mating gear on the window mechanism? That might determine whether or not the motor has enough torque to raise the window.

Just for reference, I was looking at some of the robotics sites, and some of them will use power window motors in their robots. The cheap ones are 3.9 Nm, which is close to 3 ft-lbs. There's a lot you can do with gearing if you're willing to have very slow windows, but I think you should look elsewhere. Anyway, those (http://www.robotshop.com/en/power-window-motor -with-coupling-right.html) are only $25 each. I've seen other power window motors that were 11-14 Nm, so the 3.9Nm are probably for small windows. Any non-stock power window motor will require some fabrication. If you're willing to go down that path, you should be able to make something work. I'd look for a motor out of a car with a large window to ensure you'll get enough power. You do have to be careful not to overload the existing wiring. I don't know what gauge wiring is used, but you'll need to check that before you try a non-stock part.

Do you have any "discount" auto parts dealers there in Uruguay? If so, how much are the motors?
