On my '69,I "caught wind" of possibly needing taller/different engine frame mounts due to switching from a 350sbc to Gen.VI 454bbc with Hooker Super Comp.headers and Moroso oil pan.I've looked all over and all I can find is the same frame mounts fit small or big block.Any input would be helpful,as I'd hate to have the bb in the hole just to find out it won't set in.

IIRC, frame mounts are the same for a 350 or a big block. A factory 307 car uses different frame mounts, and a big block can be successfully installed using 307 mounts on the engine side. (I've done two) There are now interlocking 307 engine side mounts made.

This elco was originally a 6 cyl.Fast forward to 5 years ago,my cousin had a really powerful bbc in it w/4-speed.Later he put a sbc in it,which is what is in it now, then to my total shock,he passed away.I bought it when it became available,so here we are.
I'll be swapping out the sbc for a bbc. From what I'm digesting,Camaros and Corvettes use different/taller frame mounts for sbc/bbc,and the frame mounts are the same for Chevelles,Elcos. So it looks like all I need to get is some good poly motor mounts, right?

I ordered a set of frame mounts from Auto Metal Direct for a 1969 El Camino. Now,my big question, will I need tall and narrow or short and wide motor mounts?

I used the locking type by Balkamp. Check around because the prices vary a lot. Mine were $10 apiece. NAPA gets almost $50. Got mine at O'rielly.
