Where is and how do you change the fuel filter on a 2014 Yukon SLT? I’ve looked for the typical inline can filter with hex fittings on both ends inside the frame rail under the driver’s side but don’t see one.

External filter was done away with many years ago, not sure if they brought it back at any point. It's been just the one built in with the sending unit assembly in the tank.

What kind of issue are you having, or you're just looking to do preventive maintenance?

Almost all fuel-injected vehicles these days have the fuel filter as part of the pump assembly that goes inside the fuel tank. Not user serviceable.

Thanks for your replies. I’m not having any issues but at 60,000 plus miles and a planned 6,000 mile vacation through the west in a couple of weeks I'm just doing a little PMI (preventive maintenance).

Do the SLT and LT (short body) have cabin air filters or are those just on certain models?

I Googled and Youtubed changing cabin air filters, it appears GM stopped using them in SUVs in the 2007.

So I watched a guy on YouTube modify his Chevy HVAC to install a cabin air filter so I order one for $45 on the internet and plan to install it in mine. Looks like what GM used to install.

On my 2014 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L V8 VIN:0 I dropped the kick panel below the glove box that covers the heat/air duct, fan etc. and there was a blank panel where the Cabin Air Filter would go, just as the YouTube video shows. Cut out the blank with a box cutter and installed the kit just as the instructions in the kit.
