I am finishing wife's 56 wagon and need help identifying some 3 seat hardware.
I know what the ovals are for but what are the 2 round ones on the outer side of the ovals for?
Thanks

Someone might correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are for the seat back support rods to set into.

Thanks for the reply. Attached is a shot of the rear seat support rod receivers. These go on a second piece of plywood (facing to the back) which is hinged to the previous photo post. It faces forward and the seat back has brackets which snap into the oval pieces. Once you install the seat back the two round ones (don't know what for) are covered up by the seat back. Hope I made some sense out of that.

Thats a nice 56 9 passenger wagon ya got there!
I've sold my 57 (about 18 months ago now), but remember when I redid the interior and made new wood base pieces for that 3rd row seat. Then carpeted everything, so I used marine grade plywood. (didnt care about replicating the linoleum look).

As you stated above, the oval trim rings are for the clips that are part of the 3 row backer seat bolster, to snap into the base (holds that upholstered bolster upright).

The round ones on that piece? I have no clue. Since the rods connect to a different piece, I'm guessing those 2 round chrome trim rings are for something else. But there isn't anything else that I can remember about those on my 57 wagon. Shouldn't harm anything to put them back in though (if you're re-doing the wood backer panels).

Thanks
Did yours have the 2 round ones or just the ovals? I understand that 56 was the only year that the Beauville 9 passengers was offered in the Belair pkg. which I wouldn't think would be any different than the 150 or 210 9 passenger models related to the 2 round ones. Buddy went to the Tri-5 Nationals and had a picture of my setup and thought he found a guy that new everything about the 9 passengers. He said it took the guy a while then called a buddy of his over and finally they both give up! Hope it doesn't end up being so simple I have to change my screen name!

Thanks for the reply and pics.
In your third pic the seat back snaps into the 2 oval inserts, what are the 2 round ones on the outside of the ovals for?
So far I can't find anyone who knew what they were for.

Thanks Again

I have never figured that out, but memory keeps telling me that they aligned with the tops of the shocks...?
