Just got back to working on my 67 after years of not. When I put the engine assy in with mounts that I had purchased about 14 years ago I was thinking about the bolt that I had put thru the side mounts on the 57 as when they go the rotor breaks & you sit at the side of the road. Then after going thru parts I had stored I found another set of mounts that had bolts or rivets thru the rubber & seemed to me to be a lot more solid. The trans mount also seemed kind of wimpy. Does anyone know of engine or trans mount problems with the 67 Chevelle with mounts from the 2003 era? I don't remember which vender I got them from. Thanks for your thoughts & have a good day.

The later replacement mounts have an interlocking design which restricts engine movement if the rubber bond breaks. If that's the type of mount you have now, the engine can't go anywhere.

I will take a look at my mounts Ray but I don't think they are of the later design. I didn't look that close though the first time.
Good article Grumpy. Different issues on different cars & more need to fix up front.
Thanks guys
