All,
I recently tried to find a replacement "Y" pipe for my 2003 Sonoma ZQ8 and I cannot find anybody who makes a stainless (or any) replacement for my combination which is 4.3L and 5spd manual. Has anyone else found a solution or modified one of the ones available for a different combination?

Thanks,
Scott

Your best bet is probably going to be an exhaust shop. Bragging rights aside for using stainless, aluminized steel will last a very long time, and you can increase the pencil sized pipe that they used from the factory. I bumped mine up to 2.25"

Thanks. It's just whenever the muffler shops see a 1 pc part with 2 converters their eyes gloss over with dollar signs. Considering 2 cats the stainless pipes I see on summit are reasonably priced; just nothing 2wd 4.3L manual. Before looking I assumed I would be money ahead by finding the part myself or at least have something which would last forever for the same price as other options.

At this point I wouldn't mind finding anything that would be a bolt-in and the original exhaust lasted over 14 years. The muffler shops do sometimes have their own catalog of pipes so that might need to be the solution.

The full size trucks also ran dual cats and 4.3s with 5spds,might have to modify the rest of the system though
And the 99+ trucks used stainless pipes, not sure if the aftermarket will be the same

Ok thanks, I will keep in mind the 99+ full size configuration to see if it looks similar.

I found aftermarket for seemingly every combination of s10/sonoma except 4.3L with 5spd. I need to find my notes but it looked to me like a combination of 2 existing PNs would work. When I called the company directly they told me nicely that if it were that simple they would have offered the part...
