I've decided to get a freshly rebuilt 350 from an 85 truck to drop into my 68.
This will give me time to rebuild the 68 engine and have a working truck.
My 68 is three on the tree, no power brakes, no power steering, no air conditioning.
I just want to make sure this 85 will bolt up properly to my transmission.
What do I need to know before I commit to this purchase? Will the engine mate up to my tranny?

Use your 68 bellhousing, flywheel and starter and you will be fine on the transmission. Up front, check your fan to radiator clearance. If both are stock, the 85 will have a long water pump and the 68 will be short. You can swap all of the front end stuff if you have to, but it's a lot less work if you don't have to swap those parts.
