How do you adjust and/or make your kickdown downshift work? Ive tried adjusting how high the kickdown lever goes.

Nothing seems to make it downshift with the gas pedal

First make sure te linkage is pulling the carbureator wide open when floored. If it is check diagram in shop manual for adjusting linkage on a 6 cyl. engine.

Good advice ! Thanks ! I have noticed that it does not seem to be wide open when I floor it, the pedal travel seems small.
