1961 Apache 10 w/235 sputtered to a stop today. Half a tank of gas and no fuel to carb. Pulled inline filter off and cranked engine. No fuel. Pulled input line from fuel pump and no fuel came out. I remember when I changed out the pump last year, fuel poured out the input line. This leads me to think I've got an obstruction somewhere. Correct thinking? If so, I plan on disconnecting the fuel line at tank and pump and see if I can get air through it. If I can what's my next step? Pull fuel tank?

Thanks

For sure a restriction somewhere, assuming your gage is accurate. Did your fuel line have a sock filter on the pick up?

Disconnected fuel line at pump and top of tank. Blew it out with air. Clear. Pulled pick up tube with wire mesh sock on the end from tank and blew it out with air also. Clear. Where do I go from here?

Did you put on a different gas cap?

The tank needs to be vented and there are vented gas caps and non-vented gas caps.

Primed carb with a syringe 6 times. Fire...die...fire....die. 6th time she took off and is running great. Confused as to what caused fuel line to run dry. Truck was parked on a pretty good decline before she sputtered to a stop right after I moved her.
