Took a short drive yesterday and parked the car in front of the garage when I returned. When I moved the car into the garage later I found a large puddle of transmission fluid where it had been parked. Well, at least it is still under warranty.

I wish! Transmission was rebuilt this past winter.

Instead of a leak, you could have the famous powerglide burp. The first time mine did the burp I didn't know what had happened.

Have not heard of that. Does it happen often?

I had a similar problem with a fresh turbo 350 I put in a 41 Chevy I built. Turned out mud dobbers built a nest in the vent tube. Check the vent for a blockage. Good luck with your project.

My powerglide has burped transmission fluid out the fill tube 2 or 3 times over a 5 year period. There is information on this site if you can find it. Clean up the trans as best you can. If there is no further evidence of leaks you will know it was the burp.

Do not start it in Park. It will burp. In fact do not let it run in Park, the pump does not run while in park.
I always start mine in neutral,

I think all 2 speed Powerglide oil pumps will not pump with the selector in park.

It is at the shop now. When they got it on the rack I saw a couple leaks. One from a cooler line and one the shifter rod. There might be more.

Thanks for the info on starting in park. I don't think I ever heard that
