I have a '38 that I am working on. I have the door and trunk handles rechromed. Now it is time to reinstall the lock mechanisms. I never really noticed it before, but the lock chrome, or stainless, cap is scratched from years of use. Does anyone know of a good way to help minimize the scratches?

You might try some gentle rubbing compound or jeweler's rouge and a Dremel cloth wheel.

Thanks for the ideas. I will definitely give them a try.
