I wonder if someone could do me a huge favor. I need to know what the measurement is between the b pillar door jam at the top on a 57 2 door hardtop. There has been A LOT of metal replaced and I want to verify that this area is correct. It would really really be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 56 hard top with a solid body and original quarters, that I just measured. I'm pretty sure all 3 years HT's are the same in tht area. From the outside, at the very top corner of the door post, to the opposite side, it is exactly 60".

I also think all three years are the same, but there are slight differences in all the measurements around the cars.

This is a 57 HT and its slightly less than 60"

You also might want to measure diagonally from the bottom of the passenger side to the top of the driver side as well as the opposite. This measurement should be the same on both sides and will make sure both sides are square with the body.

Actually, with both diagonals equal in length it's no assurance that it is correct, after all, a rhombus, which has equal diagonals but has its two short sides, though equal in length and parallel as a rectangle but the sides are not plumb as is a rectangle.

A rhombus has equal sides, but not equal diagonals.

Hey Pistol! I'm just trying to get back on it. She's been sitting for several years as you know. If the Gods are with me I really hope to be ready for paint by fall.
